Naples care · field notes

Know who makes and sends the medicine.

Get the pharmacy’s actual name and ask about its Florida permits. A low price or a claim that the pharmacy is on a government list does not explain the medicine you will receive.

With compounding, someone makes the medicine to order instead of supplying a ready-made product. The compounder is the person or place making it, such as a pharmacy. Ask for that name before comparing pharmacy claims.

The US medicines agency is called the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). The health professional writing the prescription is called the prescriber.

Check the place making the medicine as well as the place arranging care.

Question to keep

A Florida pharmacy

To look up a pharmacy in Florida’s licence search, choose “establishments”. That is the search’s word for businesses. Checked September 28, 2026. Look up a pharmacy in Florida

What is the pharmacy’s exact name and permit number?

Compounded injections sent from another state

Florida requires an extra permit to send made-to-order sterile medicines here from another state. Sterile means free of living germs. Checked September 28, 2026. Florida’s permit rule for shipped medicines

What is the extra Florida permit number for the medicine being sent?

Being on a list does not mean FDA approval

“FDA registered” means a medicine-making business is on an FDA register. Neither that place nor its medicines gain FDA approval from registration. Checked September 26, 2026. Read the federal registration rule

NDC stands for National Drug Code, an identifying number for a medicine in a government drug list. A seller may show you this number as proof of approval. The FDA says the number is not proof that the medicine is approved. Checked September 26, 2026. FDA on product codes

Depending on the product, semaglutide and tirzepatide treat diabetes or help with weight loss. Their injections were absent from the FDA’s list of medicines in short supply across the country. Checked September 26, 2026. FDA’s supply and compounding updates

Federal law limits how ordinary pharmacies make copies of medicines already available to buy. A prescriber can decide that a change in the made-to-order version makes a real difference for a named patient. That version can fall outside the rule against copies. Price savings alone are not enough to qualify as that difference. Other compounding rules still apply. Checked September 26, 2026. FDA explains the compounding limits

A low quote does not answer the pharmacy question

Ask for the reason behind proposing a medicine prepared to order and the rule the pharmacy is using. Ask for the answer in writing, in words you can understand.

Before a medicine is sent

I have the name of the pharmacy filling the prescription.

I know whether someone else prepares the medicine.

I have asked about the relevant Florida permits.

I know how to reach a pharmacist with questions.

I have asked for the label and storage instructions.

These field notes guide a Naples care search; they are not a clinic and do not sell medicines.
